PRIZES:

This club event will not have prizes but acknowledgement of category winners will given at the presentation after the event. Spot prizes will be drawn when available.

RESULTS:

Results will be published on the AWTC website as soon as possible after the event (usually within 48 hours). To ensure accuracy of the results, athletes are requested to ensure that they have their race race numbers clearly marked on their right arms. It will also help race timers if the their race numbers are called out to timers as they pass the spli timing points (if any) and at the finish.

RULES:

All competitors must obey Triathlon Australia rules. In particular:

SWIM: You must wear a swim cap. Swim cap is not provided. Wetsuit is athlete’s option.

BIKE: Torsos must be covered during the cycle and run legs. Helmets must be Australian approved for bicycle use.  Very Important-traffic awareness–no roads are closed.  Obey all road rules.  Marshals cannot direct traffic. No drafting allowed.  Drafting will result in disqualification. Spacing of at least 3 bicycle lengths is required between competitors unless overtaking.

RUN: Torsos must be covered during the run leg. Members in teams are to wait near the swim entry/run exit of the bike compound to be tagged for the next leg.

ENDURO COURSE DESCRIPTION:

SWIM: (250m) The swim is in the Allan’s Flat lake. Please note that low lake levels may cause parts of the swim course to be very shallow.  Swim exit can be slippery so take care when leaving the water and running to the transition area.  On exit from the water, come up the ramp and follow the red markers to the cycle transition.

CYCLE: (13km) The course is 7.5km out and 7.5km back on Osbornes Flat road. Helmet must be done up before bike is removed from the rack. Exiting the bike compound – mount cycle only when on the road as directed. Very Important-traffic awareness–no roads are closed.  Obey all road rules.  Marshals cannot direct traffic. It is a condition of racing that you obey marshals’ directions at the turnarounds.  We are not allowed to stop vehicles and cyclists and must give way at turnaround points. Be particularly careful when arriving back into the transition area – dismount on left hand side of the road and check for traffic before crossing road. Rack bike in the same place before removing helmet.

RUN: (3km) From the run exit, follow the red markers around on onto the side of the road. Run course is 1.5km out and 1.5km back on Gap Flat road. During the run, stay close to the edge of the roads and be aware of traffic.

On returning from the run, the competitor continues the race with another swim, cycle and run.

TEAMS: Waiting team members are to be positioned at the non-bike entry/exit of the transition compound to tag the retiring team member. Cycle leg members are to tag the retiring team member before removing their bike from the rack and to rack their bicycle before tagging the run team member.

DIRECTIONS TO ALLAN'S FLAT:

Take the Murray Valley Highway out from the Wodonga water tower (towards Tallangatta). At Bandiana, turn right onto the Kiewa Valley Highway and follow this for approximately 3km and turn right into the Yackandandah Road. Follow this for approximately 11km and turn left towards Osborne's Flat/Allan's Flat. 1 Km along this road on the left is the transition area near the lake.

VENUE FACILITIES:

The Allan's Flat Recreation area has basic toilets and ample car parking located around the tennis courts. There is no mains water or power. We provide fruit and water for our competitors but recommend you bring your own food and drinks for after the event and for non-competitor friends/family.

ACCOMMODATION:

The Colonial Inn at Allan's Flat is the closest accommodation to the race venue (about 1 Km away). Contact 02 60271530. Accommodation is also available in Yackandandah (about 7km from race venue) or in Wodonga and Albury about 25km from race venue.

EVENT UPDATE :
