to the training page. This page is designed to assist triathletes with
their training by offering tips and providing information of club training
sessions.
Club
Training - 5 to 25 January 2009
This
is an exciting initiative open to all members. All level of skills and
fitness are welcome. To join the training you must be an AWTC member,
or pay the club membership prior the start of the training. $20.00 per
adult and $10.00 per junior under 20. A membership form is available for
download from the Home page.
Session
fees:
$3 per session - $10.00 per week. The fees as to be paid
before the start of the session.
(Pool entry is extra for each pool session unless a season pool member)
Meeting
Point:
The session meeting points are indicated in the session
descripition list. Please come 5 minutes prior to the session to process
the session payment.
Team
of Trainers: Fabrizio Andreoni, Level 2 Triathlon Coach - Darren
Miles, Level 1 trainee Triathlon Coach - Julie Gollan-Foard, Fitness Trainer
- Janene Schubert, Pilates Instructor. Some sessions will be conducted
by more than one trainer to allow training for different levels of fitness,
skills and age.

Description
MULTISPORT
SESSIONS
Brick #1: 30mins wind-trainer followed by
5km run off bike, athletes bring own wind trainer. Meet at 672 Belgravia
Ave, Albury. Two sessions on Tuesdays, at 6am and at 7am. Why not a super
session by joining both?
Brick #2: 40mins ride followed by 3km run
off bike. Meet at Albury Pool car park, Albury.
Brick #3: 90mins of transition training at
low intensity (pre-race routine) Swim 15 min, transition swim/run, run
15 min, transition run/bike, ride 30 mins, transition bike/run, jog 5
mins. Meet at Albury Pool, Albury. (Pool entry applies for non pool members).
COMBO Training: Combination of wind-trainer,
swim & run sets. Meet at Albury Pool. (No session on Wed 14 Jan. due
to AWTC Aquathon at Albury Pool) (Pool entry applies for non pool members).
RUNNING SESSIONS
Easy Run: 55mins run at easy pace along the
Murray river tracks. Meet at Albury Pool car park, Albury.
Track Run #1: 55mins session on run intervals
ideal for sub-juniors and juniors. Meet at Alexandra Park track, Albury.
Track Run #2: Session on run intervals where
participants can use their own wind-trainer as rest interval to improve
run off bike performance. Meet at Alexandra Park track, Albury. Bring
your own wind-trainer.
Track Run #3: Session on run intervals. Meet
at Alexandra Park track, Albury.
Track Run #4: This is not an AWTC organised
session. The training is for sub-junior and junior and is conducted by
Les O’Brien from the Albury Border Athletic Club. Meet at Alexandra
Park track, Albury. $2 fee required to Albury Border Athletic Club.
Fartlek Run: Endurance/strength training,
along the Murray River tracks. Meet at Albury Pool car park, Albury. (Also
on 8th Jan a 5km Run T.T. at 7pm at the Albury Alexandra Park track. Warm
up on wind-trainer optional from 6pm.
BIKE SESSIONS
Cycle #1 Training: 1 to 2 hours pack rides
of different levels. Meet at Albury Pool car park, Albury.
Cycle #2 Training: 1 hour group ride ideal
for novice riders and juniors. Meet at Albury Pool car park, Albury.
Cycle Track: This is not an AWTC organised
session. The training is for sub-junior and junior and is conducted by
Lavinton Panter Cycle Club at Lavington Velodrome. Club fee applies. Starts
6.00pm. Contact Brendan at work on 0260414181.
Cycle Criterium Training: 55mins ride on
1km course, ideal for bike handling skills and strength training. Meet
at Water Tower Wodonga. (No session on Sat. 24 Jan)
SWIMMING SESSIONS
Swim Squad: 55mins swim training from stroke
correction to competitive swimming. Albury Pool, Albury. (Pool entry applies
for non pool members).
Open Water Swim training: 55mins swim training
from OPS strokes correction to pack swim at easy pace. Meet on left side
boat ramp of Kookaburra Point, Bonegilla. (Wetsuit and fins are optional).
BODY CONDITIONING SESSIONS
Body Conditioning & Flexibility Training:
Strength Circuit including abdominal workout and flexibility exercises.
Fun and challenging. Meet at Howell Park, Albury.
Pilates & Flexibility Training: Core
conditioning using Pilates techniques and flexibility training. Meet at
Alexandra Park track, Albury.
